HIV/AIDS Policy of the NPO
The HIV/AIDS policy is one of the most effective ways of reducing and managing the impact of HIV/AIDS in the organization. The policy has principles such as:
• the promotion of equality and non-discrimination between individuals infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and other comparable health/medical conditions.
•Creating a supportive environment so that infected members of the NPO or community members are able to participate in the organizations events under normal conditions.
•Protecting the rights and dignity of people living with HIV/Aids is important to the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS.
The NPO has programs that prevent discrimination and stigmatization of people living with HIV/AIDS, such as awareness programs, educating members about acceptance and openness around HIV/AIDS in the organization. This policy is in line with the Constitution of South Africa and all relevant legislation and also in line with the NPO's Constitution.
